Depending on the number of people infested in your household, the number of kids you have, the persistence of infestation, and other circumstances, we do a combination of the following:

For individual families…

1. Safely remove adult lice and nits using combing techniques aided by a combination of organic, food-grade oils (never chemicals or poisons)
2. Remove the nits (eggs) by hand, using a tried and true system and the best tools available.  There is no effective non-toxic alternative to hand-removing the nits.  It is painstaking and necessary.
3. Carefully check the hair of other family members.
4. Assist the family in properly washing potentially affected clothing or bed-sheets.  Although in most cases, lice are not spread through sheets or clothing, it is a possibility, and there is no reason not to aim for total lice eradication.
5. Seal in special storage bags the non-washable items that may be affected (like teddy bears).  Any eggs which have been deposited will hatch into nymphs and die quickly without access to a human host.
6. Leave behind all the tools necessary to take care of the problem, though of course we hope you would call us if it should happen again.
7. Return for a re-check in 7-10 days.
